Muzaffar Shah III (AD 1583-1584), Silver, Rupee, Dar-ul-Zarb Ahmedabad Mint, AH 991 (Rajgor# 2447; G&G# G647). About Extremely Fine, Very Rare. Muzaffar revolted during the reign of Akbar and in 1583 regained the throne of Ahmedabad for a year or so and issued rare coins imitating the then current Mughal Rupees of Akbar. However, in no time he had flee and took refuge with the Rao of Kutch, the latter, however, handed him to the Mughals. Rather than remain a captive in the Mughal hands, Muzaffar committed suicide by cutting his neck from a saving razor and thus putting a full stop to the Gujarat Sultanate.
