Colonial Issues, William IV, Silver, Rupee Pattern of 1834, plain edge, full-stop (dot) after William IIII (Pr#. 173). Original pattern, very attractive grey tone, brilliant FDC, Exceedingly Rare. Most 1834 patterns original or restrike are always seen with a comma after IIII and not a dot hence this coin is exceedingly rare. This coin variety was not in F. Pridmore’s collection. The mint master had prepared this pattern in order that the Governor General could judge and compare the Lion and Head design to determine the most suitable for the obverse of the new coinage.
Estimate: ₹2,50,000 - ₹3,00,000
